new hair cut?
Tues. night, Erin came into our bathroom to brush her teeth and I left after putting toothpaste on her toothbrush (I brush her teeth after she does it,) and then it happened. In the back of my head, I thought, I probably shouldn't leave her alone. She's notorious for getting into mischief. A few minutes later, Eric yells, "Erin cut her hair!" I haven't been through that before (yeah, right)- she then asked if I could cut her bangs. There's no more bangs to cut!
Brian is beginning to walk! He looks like a penguin- as adorable as can be with a huge smile. He stands up, takes 4-5 steps and falls into a big hug to whoever is luckiest to catch him. ( The kids fight over who he is going to walk to.)
Haley has been drawing and cutting all the Halloween monsters she can think of. She also did a beautiful picture of herself. Megan has a cold, but she drew some beautiful pics of the LA temple.
James amazes me- he plays the most beautiful chords on the piano- all self taught. He also lost my treadmill key - waiting for a new one I bought on ebay. I don't even want to go there. Eric is reading and likes to help once he is convinced. I love them all so much. Kevin and I check in with eachother throughout the day. He's wonderful.

family home evening tonight!
I love Mondays! Our fhe will be on peaceability- how to handle/control temper, becoming irritated,....Brigham Young once said, "Learn to control yourselves; learn to be in the hands of God as clay in the hands of the potter. ...Dismiss everything that you know or consider to be wrong, and embrace that which is better." This isn't easy, but with the Lord's help- anything is possible. I want to be a better example to my family and create a home that is a refuge from the world. It begins with our attitude- if I'm in control of my temper- what better way to teach them to be in control of theirs.
Megan made chocolate chip cookies last night. We used the convection oven setting for the first time....perfection.
Christopher finished Little House on the Prairie last night- it took him less than 2 days.
The kids are practicing for sacrament primary program.
Kevin just put in the built-in book case in the great room. I hope I picked a good color- dark walnut. My friend Debbie helped me choose it. Kevin really likes it. I do, too.

friday's happenings
Erin was climbing on Christopher and he pushed her off the couch. She's got a good big fat lip- poor baby. Bri-Bri is taking steps! Megan is working with him..she is so funny. She holds his hands and helps him get his balance- she is determined to get him to walk. Great big sister! Haley has been making lists- Christmas lists and she told me, "This is for my birthday list when I turn 7." (She's 5.) We finally finished Farmer Boy- the kids were howling they were laughing so hard at the 2nd to last chapter. christopher began reading the next volume in his room. Eric is doing great at reading. James- pretty quiet today- getting into trouble- a few days ago, he flushed sandpaper down the toilet- sound familiar anyone? Today he decided to open a bottle of water and pee in it. Megan found it in the pantry. I love being a mom.
